Kenneth Brian Aickin

Kenneth Brian Aickin (20 March 1947- 5 July 2025) passed away in Wellington with his family by his side, surrounded by love. Son of the late Ralph and Roberta Aickin, Ken was the adored husband of the late Judy (nee Beazer), with whom he ran Kilbirnie Pharmacy for nearly 30 years. Ken will be missed by his sons and daughters-in-law Matt & Cinna, Dan & Christine, his sister and brother-in-law Pauline & Richard, and his extended family. Ken’s family would like to thank all of his neighbours and friends who supported and visited him, as well as the wonderful staff at Malvina Major Retirement Village’s Hospital wing, whose warmth and care made his final months easier. As per Ken’s wishes, a private farewell has been held. Messages to the Aickin family can be posted c/- 27 Rhodes Street, Carterton 5713.

My sincere condolences to you Mat & Dan and your family. I felt very honoured when Ken rang me and invited me to visit him at Melvina Major hospital, what reminances we had of Kilbirnie Pharmacy days. Ken rang me on Thursday 3 July we again chatted & had a few laughs, little did I know that would be our last conversation . RIP Ken.
