Please join us in celebrating
Thomas's life.

Anderson, Thomas Geoffrey

Of Miramar and Karori, Wellington. Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 13 July at Wellington Hospital, aged 30 years.

Treasured son of Warren and Trish, brother of Kieran and Kate. And much loved by his wider whānau of family, carers and friends.

Severely disabled from an early age, his too-short life touched many who came to know him. He taught us all how to be strong and resilient. Kia kaha Tom!

Our thanks to everyone at Kingfisher House, Karori where he lived with his special flatmates Cameron, Teresa, Adrian and Kasey, and where the very special staff have so wonderfully enabled his extraordinary life these past 13 years.
A service for Thomas will be held at Lychgate Funerals, 306 Willis Street, Wellington on Friday 19th July 2024 at 11am. The livestream link may be found at lychgate.co.nz/upcoming-funerals/

Messages to the family may be sent c/- Lychgate Funerals or made online at the above addresses.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Kingfisher Trust would be much appreciated and can be left in the foyer of the service venue.

Tom, you were an inspiration to those who knew you. I so much enjoyed being one of the lucky who knew you at Kimi Ora Thorndon and later EBIS. You had a great sense of humour and a propensity for fun. Rest in Peace.

Sad to hear of your passing Tommy. You have made such a big impact on my life in ways I’ll never be able to thank you enough for. You taught me life doesn’t always have to be so serious, and having a laugh is always worth it when in doubt! I’m so blessed beyond measure to have had the opportunity to work alongside you and your beautiful Kingfisher flatmates, Ado, Teresa and Cammie during my time in Wellington. I’ll always miss starting the day by turning up your tunes to set the mood for a positive day! All my love to you, Mum and Dad, and your family and friends. Thinking of you guys during this tough time
With love, Jahnna

We don’t meet beautiful souls like Tom by accident or chance we are meant to cross paths for a reason, to teach us, diversity connection and resilience in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
