Fly high Cuz.. I have such fond memories of you and Maire growing up, I remember coming and watching you two doing BMX back in the day and thought it was so cool. You guys were so tight .. peas in a pod I reckon!.. always into everything giving everything a go! We have all been thinking of you with heavy hearts during this difficult time. Looking forward to attending the celebration of your life (online) from Melbourne – big love Ben, Kim and Sienna x Fly high Angel .. you’re in good company up there x

My thoughts are with you in the tragic passing of Brendan. I had only known him a couple of weeks, but it was clear we have been well and truly robbed by his untimely passing. He has already left such an impression on me in such a short time, despite never meeting him in person. It was clear just how much he loved his family and daughters, and he spoke of his pride in them when we were first introducing ourselves. His love of music and legacy in his family will live on. Big aroha x

Crazy to hear of Brendan’s passing. I first met Brendan at the BMX track out by the Wellington Airport, catching back up with him @ Mana College then we worked together doing our Electrical apprenticeships – some fun times were had along the way – always remember my wedding day when Brendan rocked up whilst I was getting ready and said to me – “man I can’t let you do this without sending you off with a session” that set the tone of the day 😁 Over time we kept in touch but never managed to catch up in person – Brendan was a truly great guy, RIP mate

Dear Aunty Harriet and Maire
My heartfelt condolences on the sad loss of cousin Brendan. I remember growing up hearing Mum (Irene) talking about all the things that Brendan and Maire were doing as children, from Bmx racing to all the talented skills they took into adulthood, such talent. Sister Kim recently sent me a video of Brendan playing the drums in his band, and how happy he looked. Life can be so cruel at times, and I can only imagine how devastated and heartbroken you must feel, but please remember that you have a lot of love and support around you. Sending you strength, love, and hugs from across the waters in the UK. Keep shining above, Brendan. Love Amanda xxx

I was also lucky enough to work with Brendan and we shared many a lunch break nattering about our families, his passion for music, his flat hunting and settling in. Always a Dad joke at the ready.
He was a very special person who clearly thought the world of his two wonderful daughters.
I shall be attended his farewell service online.
Sending strength and love to his family and friends as we celebrate the life of a very special person.

I worked with Brendan in his early days at Telecom / Spark. Brendan had such a strong love for his family, his music and a passion for helping others learn and grow. The pride and love Brendan had for his family was obvious in his conversations as he would talk about his childhood and his girls. I am sure his loss will be felt hugely by many. Hopefully there will be a set of drums waiting for him, some great vocalists to accompany him and he can continue to rock on. Condolences to his family.

Brendan you and Mel were one of the first people on day one at Broadcasting School. Thank you for the laughs, your wisdom and your skills behind that drum-kit during those many, many nights in Hamilton with the Farrelly brothers. Fly high and free. We will rally around your girls. Nā koutou i tangi, nā tatau katoa – Tarsh xx

Brendan, thank you for sharing your jokes about drummers. (You really aren’t that kind of drummer;) Thank you for breaking my car out of that car park. Thank you for the musical insight you gave us to improve our songs, and for sharing your own material. Thank you for your infectious enthusiasm and humour. Thank you for inviting me to jam with you. There’s so much to thank you for, and now I won’t see you again. Rest in peace, brother. We won’t forget you.
