It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alison, suddenly but peacefully on September 30, 2025. Alison is lovingly remembered by her family, sister Jean and husband Ray, brother Graham (Dec) nephews Paul, David, and Phil, nieces Nicki and Rose, and godchildren Campbell, Vicki, Rosemary, and Alister. A private cremation has been held. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Wellington Free Ambulance would be appreciated. Last spoke to Alson on 13th SEPTEMBER so it’d hard to believe she has left us. I last saw her in Wellington on 24/03/25 for her birthday celebration at Gipp Street Deli with Elizabeth Alley. We always met for our birthdays and I used to pick her up. I now live in Hawkes Bay Unfortunately won’t be able to celebrate her life with you all but semd my condolences.

My love and condolences to you Jean and all who mourn today. Alison and I were great friends since primary school days. We travelled together while overseas and kept in touch over all these years, meeting up when I was in Wellington. Always contacted each other on or near our birthdays and I had a lovely phone call with her around her birthday in March this year. She was one very special lady and my family too are so saddened to hear of her death. We have wonderful memories of such happy times together. Sadly I am unable to be with you all at her farewell, but my thoughts and prayers will be with you, as we remember and thank God for a very dear friend. God be with you all. With love, Patsy.

My sympathy to the family and friends of Alison who is remembered as a bright, clever, kind friend.
Only recently I sought confirmation that Alison was a resident in Bupa, Crofton Downs and my thoughts have been with her but, regrettably, not a visit.
At Iona College , in the early 1950’s, Alison and I with Jill Fogelberg ( now Stanley) and Annette Wake (now Wimsett) were a happy foursome . We missed Alison when she finished her senior years at Chiltern St. James.
I once had an enjoyable stay at 10 Myrtle Street Lower Hutt and visited Wellington which was a good experience for a farm child from Mangatuna.
Contact , including meetings in London, has only been occasional since our school days but it is a friendship that isn’t forgotten.
Happy Memories ” Cookie” !

Our family was very saddened to hear of Alison’s passing. She was a lovely lady and a dear friend to my mother Pat Symes and also a great business advisor.
Unfortunately, I am unable to attend her memorial gathering on Wednesday as I am looking after a young grandson. We send our condolences to all Alison’s family.
Kind regards
Michele.
