Nana, I’m so sorry I can’t be there with everyone today. I’m sitting in England wearing Corkill blue and thinking of you. You were the most incredible matriarch and a very special and loving nana. You inspired and supported a life-time love of hobbies, being creative and loving Wanaka. I have so many fond memories of painting, reading on the beach together at Granny’s beach, playing croquet in the garden, pressing flowers, listening to classical music, knitting , getting rock biscuits from the special jar, drinking tea out of real cups and saucers, and eating barley soup (still a favourite!). We shared a joy in outings for french pastries and beach picnics with our books. You will be missed but every time I visit Shelley Bay, Little Akaloa or Wanaka I know I’ll think of you. Lots of love, Rachael.
