TRIBUTES
Davina Carpenter
How does one express the amazing essence and spirit of John, his selfless generosity, uncompromising belief in all that is good, and unwavering commitment to his family and friends.
Words, even the very best of words, cannot pay tribute or truly capture the sense of loss that we feel (your work family).
I’ll remember your laughter, belief and faith in seeing the best in everything.
All my thoughts are with your family. Davina

I was so saddened to hear this news. I held Jon in very high regard . . . usually quick to laugh and easy going but when it mattered, could put you in your place in seconds (I necessarily felt that a couple of times). I don’t know how he managed to do what he did half the time but PHARMAC benefitted beyond measure from his pragmatic wisdom, expertise and high standards. Having attempted to use the best in class (at the time) publishing software to publish the Pharmaceutical Schedule from our database, he and his sons then set about making their own. A superior process and outcome was the inevitable result. Touché. Thinking of you all and wishing you much comfort and love during this time of grief.

I am so sorry to hear of John’s passing. John was a work colleague during my 15 years at PHARMAC. I remember him for his fierce intellect and principled nature and also having a great sense of humour to go with that. He cared greatly for his children and grandchildren too. I always enjoyed his company, he was someone many of us looked up to for his wisdom and honesty.
My deepest condolences to John’s family for their loss.

John, I really enjoyed our conversations over the 15 years our paths crossed at work – but what I will remember the most is your kindness to me, particularly when my daughter was a baby and you let me use your car park for several years so I could get home quickly if I needed to. Geraldine
