JOHNSTON, Harriet Clark, QSM

Born Dumfries, Scotland, passed peacefully on 23 November 2023, aged 96.

Harriet was the third daughter of Alex and Isa Johnston.  She was loved by her late siblings, May, Isobel, Beth and Alan.  Aunt of Brian, Fionna, Nora and Leslie; Great Aunt of David and Great Great Aunt of Fraser (all UK).

Harriet was a Boys Brigade leader for over 50 years.   She led the 2nd Wellington Boys Brigade, where she was admired and respected by the 100’s of boys who joined the company. Harriet was the first female BB Captain in the world.

Harriet was a loved and faithful member of St John’s in the City for nearly 70 years.  A funeral of thanksgiving to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday 29 November at 10 am, St John’s, corner of Willis and Dixon Streets.
