Max's life.

KERR Max (Maxwell Grainger) died on 15 March 2025 at Te Hopai, Wellington. Sadly missed by Jenny, Harriet, and Silas. Much loved twin of Rosemary Compton.  A discerning and kind person who loved Wellington, theatre, chamber music, opera, gardens, language and reading, fine arts, Central Park, good food and wine, walking, and family history. Courageous to the end. With grateful thanks to staff at Te Hopai for their kind care over nearly four years. Donations to Wellington Free Ambulance or Diabetes Wellington much appreciated. To my dear sister Jenny, beloved daughter Harriet and stepson Silias.
You are my family and Max was my hero and will be sadly missed by all that cared and
respected his many contributions to this world.

My family of origin is in NZ . I visited Jenny and Max in 2021 from the US. What awesome hosts they both were to us. From the moment we arrived Max was offering us a drink of preference to next we sat down to an aesthetically pleasing top notch meal . Talk about 5 star fine dining experience Truly a Master chef in his own right was our Max.

Max will always be remembered as an endearing sweet spirited gentleman. Always with a kind word and helpful demeanor . Thank you Max for being that guy your family could depend upon if needed. Our Mother Norma loved you also.
Always and forever we will miss you. RIP my brother. It’s time for your eternal rest.
Loved you so much Sandie Van Laecke and family ……….❤️

The best boss I ever had. A wise, thoughtful, visionary leader who should have had many more years of great and faithful public service to the intersection of education and labour.
Sadly missed, always remembered.
