McElroy, Patrick Joseph

Passed away peacefully on 28^th April 2025, aged 88. Dearly loved husband of Maria (deceased). Loved father of Michael, Roseanne, Jeannie and Brendan. Loved grandfather of Daniel, Amy, Anna, Chris, Cara, Patrick, Elizabeth, Catherine and great-grandfather to five beautiful little girls.

A Requiem mass will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral, 40 Hill Street, Thorndon, Wellington at 12pm on Monday 5th May 2025. Thereafter burial at Makara Cemetery.

Very sad to hear of the passing of Paddy, such a lively and engaging character. Growing up in Island Bay we loved hearing him catch up with Mum & Dad over tales of Carrickmacross. Latterly in the Wairarapa, Kieran and Paddy loved their games of golf and mutual interest in the horses

Sincere condolences. Paddy Murphy (Dundalk) and Alice Murphy, (nèe Kelly), (dec) shared many happy times with Paddy. Some great craic! Alice was a sister to Ellen Feehan, Nancy Garrett and Kathy Bellam, all originally from Leege, Carrickmacross. Remember all the wonderful memories you have of Paddy. May he rest in eternal peace.
