TRIBUTES

Richard Parkinson

Dear Glennis and family.
Our sincere condolences with the passing of Owen. Owie will be remembered as a man that would do anything for anyone, with a humorous quick wit and grin to go with it, that would always win the day. Many fond memories and stories to be told whilst visiting Awa Rd , Miramar.
Thoughts with you all at this time.

Owen, although we have not been in each others presence for over 15 years, you are always in my thoughts. Such a kind and warm gentleman with generosity that surpasses many. Thoughts are with you Glennis and the family. Thanking for sharing such a wonderful man over the years, life will be a sad place without this beautiful soul. Love, Wendy Diamond (Perth) xxx

Gwen Sedgewick

A family friend for approx 50 years as a result of Salvation Army brass bands. Glennis and Owen were always welcomed by our family when they were in Melbourne and vice versa. Owen would go out with John early in the mornings to help with the cleaning business. Our children have intermingled and been interested in each other. Owen was a wonderful friend as is Glennis and so pleased I was able to visit them during 2023. Always the same. Lots of laughs and interest in each others families. Owen, our family will miss you, but we have many memories as we have celebrated family milestones over the years. No more suffering. You are at Peace. Hope that you and John behave yourselves! Lots of jokes? Love and prayers go to all the family.

Owen and Glennis were like extended family. I thank you for having me x 2 when I visited. I especially thank you Owen for being MC at my wedding. You were always loving and kind and had a genuine interest in us and our children. You will certainly be missed xxxxxxx

Owen was a good friend and mentor, as a director of Liquid Gas Services Ltd. His business acumen and governance was very much appreciated by the shareholders and staff of LGS. Owen’s involvement in the LPG industry covered many years and his advice and foresight was appreciated by all. He also assisted a business owned by my wife, Lyn.
Unfortunately I cannot attend his funeral as my family return to Colorado on Wednesday.

Our sincere condolences go out to Glennis and Owen’s family from the team at LGS. Owen was a huge figure in the NZ LPG Industry and General Manager for Rockgas for a number of years, prior to accepting the role of Chair of the LGS Board in 2007. Owen was chair of the LGS Board for 15 years prior to resigning in September 2022 and was instrumental in making LGS a first class company, he was an extremely intelligent and compassionate man. I personally learnt a lot from Owen and considered him as a friend and mentor.
