My heartfelt condolences to everyone. I will always remember her as Gran, Katerina and Anton’s beloved Gran. She had the warmest heart and the brightest smile every time I saw her. She was deeply loved by Kat and Lukas, and her warmth will always be remembered. Much love to you all.

Hi I wish to pass on my condolences to the family on the loss of Ngaire. My parents Ray and Clarice Pearson were good friends of John and Ngaire and my sister Sue and myself flew to Wellington for a holiday with your family. I still remember playing table tennis in the garage. This was probably 55 years ago which I have never forgotten.

Fond memories of meeting this charming lady and her husband when they came to visit me in Wales. Memories are better than dreams. Our sincere condolences to all the family.

What lovely long chats we have had over the years and some great laughs. Sitting in the sunroom in Merrivale Lane – cup of tea and conversation. Visits across the Tasman both ways. I can remember you and John travelling to the UK by freighter ship. when you docked in Fremantle, I would pick you both up and off we would go. I remember sitting on cushions on the floor late one night in a turkish coffee house in the middle of the nightclub district in Perth. Letters, emails and phone calls…… Your humour, wisdom and kind heart………. thank you for your friendship………..I shall miss you Ngaire.

In fond memory of Ngaire and her long friendship – begun in childhood – with my late mother, Ailsa Doidge. Ngaire’s kindness and remarkable intellect complemented Aisla’s quirky intelligence, forming the basis of a friendship that was both conducted and renewed over their lifetimes. Ngaire and family were also very kind and helped me when I first moved to Wellington 30 years ago, and, before that, John was a patron of my early creative work. Go n-éirí an bóthar leat, Go raibh an ghaoth go brách ag do chúl.

Sincere condolences to all the family.
News of Ngarie’s passing, brought back happy memory’s as well as sadness.
Ngarie was special to me as she and John introduced me to Margaret who became my wife 73 years ago
and I’m sure Ngarie hand a hand in this.
The chance meeting with John, when we discovered our love of music and started a life long friendship.
Rest in peace my old friends.
