Edmund Anthony Houston

Passed away peacefully at home on 1st October 2025, surrounded by his family. Loved son of the late Imelda and the late Malcolm. Dearly loved husband of Joan for 61 years. Loved Dad of Melanie and adored Poppa to the late Candy Rose, James, Matthew and Jonny. Loved brother of the late Maurice, late Bill, Jeanette and John. A private Cremation will be held on Tuesday the 7th of October. Please join us as we gather to celebrate Edmund’s life on Friday 10th of October at 2pm. Lychgate Funerals 7 Johnsonville Road, Johnsonville.

Best Uncle ever! Ed was a loving, caring, genuine and thoroughly authentic bloke – always interested in others. He was an awesome husband to Joan, Dad to Melanie and Poppa to James, Matthew & Jonny – well done Ed. What an amazing impact he had on your lives and a wonderful legacy. Ed was always happy to help and support people, and never complained about all the treatment he endured over the last few years – what a
‘Champion’. He kept enjoying life despite the challenges. I have so many lovely memories of farm visits, rides to the airport, conversations about all sort of things and I can hear Ed saying “Is that right?” as he listened intently to people’s stories and his cheeky giggle. Love you Ed – and thank you for being a wonderful uncle! RIP.
