Tributes

Terry & Jan Baker

Our very sincere sympathy to all of Isobel’s wide whanau.
Such a get up and go person , we knew her
for the last few decades , through other friends, Toogoods & Jeff King
Jeff and his late wife Win new her from their time in Wellington in the ‘80s and they have kept in touch ever since.
We missed her popping up all over Wellington as she lived her very busy calender and always had to stop for a good natter.
She visited us, at our Eketahuna cottage but didnt appreciate a rodent in the garden!!!
Regret that we wont be able to get to St Johns tomorrow but will follow on line.
A great, busy life-well lived
Regards

My deepest condolences to Izzy’s family.
I first met Izzy when I started work at the age of 17 at ANZ Bank, The Terrace Branch in Nov 1987.
She was always such fun to work with! and we’ve kept in touch over the years.
I’m sorry I can’t be at the Church this morning but will be there online.
Love
Kim Goodin and family. xx

Rodney King

My condolences go to Isobel’s family. I knew her for over 40 years as a colleague at ANZ Bank, and at subsequent retired ANZ staff lunches. She was well known and always interested in people she met by making conversation and asking after our families. Isobel will be missed.

Anna Ronberg

Kia Ora,
My husband Hamish McKay and I just wanted to say how much we will miss our fabulous catch up chats with Isobel when we went to visit my Father at Rita Angus. Isobel was so engaged in the world and so wonderfully curious still, it was an absolute highlight chatting with her.
We were so saddened to hear of her death, she was a joy and will be missed by many I’m sure.
All our very best to you all.
Kindest regards,
Anna.

Tracey and Dave Dornan Brian Petherick

I was sad to read that Isobel had passed, She was unwell for some months I believe, but it would still have been a shock for you all.
Isobel was a lovely, friendly lady, who always had a smile for everyone. I was amazed, years ago, to find out that she remembered helping my parents, as she had assisted them when their money was stolen in Europe, many years ago. How she knew they were my parents I never found out). Quite amazing. And such a memory.
She was well known in Hataitai, and will be missed.
My sympathy and best wishes to you, her family.

Bora Kim

Hello, my name is Bora Kim, and I am the physiotherapist who treated Isobel for the past five years.

Over that time, she often shared stories about her family and friends, as well as the simple joys of her life—volunteering, staying active, and keeping herself engaged. She was always so warm and kind to both me and my husband, and I will always remember how full of love she was.

I was heartbroken to hear of her passing today. I had been planning to visit Retta Angus this Monday, expecting to be greeted by her usual bright smile—but sadly, that will no longer be the case.

As I eat the Christmas chocolates she gave me and read the last message she sent, saying that she loved me, I pray that she has safely reached heaven.

My deepest condolences. May she rest in peace.
